Notifications may be Sept. term dates would then be OCT. CRE needs time to do a restack of all offices… mid Oct notification would cut it tight…unless RTO shifts again

I just received a meeting invite from my MD’s boss (also an MD ofc 🙄) for a department meeting next Thursday. Betting layoff announcements will be soon after.

We’ll know soon enough. 9/19 is around two weeks away.

Are you sure it has been pushed back? Because I hear different, directly from the horses mouth. They were speaking out of their rear end it seems.

I can confirm that date has been pushed back from week of 9/18 to mid-October.

Life is like a hurricane
Here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes
It's a duck-blur!
Might solve a mystery
Or rewrite history!

DuckTales! Woo-oo

I got to know from someone who is in top management role. It’s mid October.

Where is everyone getting the mid October date from? Dennis never specifically said that it is in October.

It will be mid October for STS. Names are not finalized nor the $ amount which needs to be saved under each org.

I was at the STS All Hands and don't recall ever hearing anything about any dates except the "cost saving" activities need to be done by EOY. I'm just speculating here but imho it would happen before October judging by the flow of new initiatives, if any, how desperate the management is to finish the existing projects, and the fact that all my future 1 on 1 meetings have magically disappeared from my calendar.

Winter is coming.

I was told it will be Q4. My theory is it will be week of 10/9, but people who attended the STS All Hands are saying week of 10/16.

My guess is in two weeks.

Friend of mine is in a very much client facing role and they have a two week black out period on taking time off. Doesn't make sense to make big changes in the next two weeks.

I’ve started seeing posts on LinkedIn from people “who no longer work at Schwab, will take some time to be with family before looking for next move”
Assuming those are laid off

As someone who has supported these production systems during all TG’s, they are running fine.

called my psychic friend and after I gave them my social security number and mother’s maiden name they predicted the following:

  • Employees whose first names start with “A”,”J”, or “M” will be the hardest hit
  • Each layoff meeting will be preceded by a giant gonging sound and the smell of brimstone
  • Fans of the original Duck Tales will be spared
  • I will soon be the victim of bank fraud

I just can’t imagine another month of this sh-t. I’m about to just go for a leave of absence. And if axed while on leave then so be it. This is mental abuse. So freaking tired.

It's taxed normally according to this site: https://www.experian.com/blogs/ask-experian/how-is-severance-pay-taxed/

I think severance is taxed as unearned income = highest tax bracket, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Do we still think it had to happen before Nov so that we're severed in this tax year? Obviously its better for those who are severed if it happens next tax year so income is technically lower bracket. Can anyone clarify on this issue?

It is extremely unlikely it'll happen next week. EC will let all changes bake in Prod for at least two weeks. Provided all errors are managed they'll get going. Like someone before me said Sep 18 week looks plausible
