Does anyone feels there is lack of direction still? I am working at factory level, but we don't know what's happening at the business side. It doesn't seem the latest ESC setup is any different from A3M.

Everyone is kicking the can down the road
Yep, most middle managers I know are running around like headless chickens. They have no sense of direction as well, just as clueless and maybe even more so than the fat cats at the Quad buildings.
We feel demoralised working in the plants. Everything is about productivity. Nobody is looking into volume growth.
Those who work in factory. Just think- when was the last year that the plants had so many rounds of furlough or shutdowns? Things are truly bad.
China a headwind. High probability of a kitchen sink quarter. Last chance to clear the deck for the new CEO. Is this irony or a paradox?
I think next earning call will be disastrous. Many EPS missed mainly due to China. More layoffs to be announced.
it feels this company has no sense of direction at all. Morale is rock bottom in the factories. Furloughs are common.
Another round of European visits by SVP and EXECS, looks like more layoffs for management this time
Not sure wtf is happening at our plant. They sank over $500 million into it, including new packaging equipment in Command Dept. They are hiring and we have worked every holiday so far. We had a lot of "visitors" from St. Paul & other places last month. A new group almost every week it seemed. Now our plant manager has taken a position in CBG supply chains working in the Packaging Expressions Dept. & they haven't said anything about a replacement. All the SVs are taking off for weeks at a time trying to burn up their vacation days. Kinda feels like things are gearing for a turn for the worst, a calm before the storm perhaps?
the problem in plants began 15 years ago when personnel officer / on-site HR officer, were taken out of plants, these individuals were a good go between managers and the factory floor worker, a big loss of trust has been made now, the last 10 years the company is now giving mechnical engineers supervisor and management posts and has resulted in big ego's and hopeless management and people skills which has seen the morale hit hard. Maybe this is the company playbook that keeps getting mentioned, or maybe it is the way Blackrock, Vanguard and State Street want their shareholders to be happy by walking all over our C-Suite and Boardroom. Tireman has come in on MR's watch to sort out his failings and although he talks the talk , the only thing done is to bring on board consultancy firm costing a shedload of dollars to do his job,
I would love to see them try and take employees survey again.
The problem with these surveys is once they are handed out and results are in they become official company record. When its official they will need to actually discuss the results and come up with improvement and action plans.
Knowing surveys will be horrendous with zero solution the smart way would be to forget surveys altogether.
Its very similar to previous town halls when they opened up chat in real time for everyone to ask questions anonymously. They got burned so hard they had to turn them off and have everyone submit questions in advance so they can vet and cherry pick ones they want to answer with pre planned responses.
That's probably why HR has ceased to do the Employee opinion survey. They won't be able to take the truth.
Any systemic survey will reveal that the vast majority of worker bees in Mother Mining do not have any faith left in top management and as such do not respect their so called management decisions.
You are not alone!!!
There is no direction other than either layoffs or selling off more business units.
I agree.. if anything , it’s even more disconnected and complicated.
