Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

GlobalFloundries can’t compete.

Instead of stepping up to the challenge, GF is crying to the German Government. Seems as if Germany is getting behind and subsidizing TSMC for a new Fab.

“ The situation has led Globalfoundries to register its concerns with the EU Commission. The company questions whether the massive subsidy to TSMC aligns with European laws. Saam Azar indicated that a formal complaint might also be filed as soon as the German government and TSMC officially register the project in Brussels.”

How many of the Dresden GF team are going to jump ship and head over to TSMC? 😂

Yes our leadership whines and cries about not getting this support. But the hypocritical irony of it all is that it is directly due to their business choices and moves. So now we just look like cry babies that didn’t get their way. Our leadership needs education in business practices and strategy stat!

The door is open to shut down the Dresden Fab. Why would any government give a damn about existing Fab? They all welcome new investment. Anyway all the GF Dresden can just hop over next door.

GF is going to whine much more. They aren’t getting anything from Europe or in US. The various governments know about how GF continues to outsource resources and reduce overall staffing numbers at fab sites.

Our business tricks and shady maneuvers no longer work and are coming back now bite us in the butt and hurt us. It just shows how inept our business side is at doing business and being foreword thinking. They might have been short term benefits to them, but when rubber meets the road our leadership has steered us into a wall. They can cry and whine it’s not fair, but make no mistake it’s their business decisions that have essentially boxed us in. Going public has shined a huge bright spot light on them and it’s clear they don’t know what their doing and everyone else is eating our lunch.
