3M has earned the award for one of the most UNethical and diabolical companies in American history.

Discrimination happens all the time at 3M. You will get hired, promoted and fired based on your attributes. What you accomplish is important but it is secondary. If things were better for 3M, it would not be as prevalent.
It depends who happens to be the leaders in your location, department or function. HR will care very little about leadershup discrimination unless it threatens the company. HR priority is to protect the company and make your issue go away. If you encounter a problem, make audio recordings. Then you will have a chance if you immediately reach out to an employment attorney (outside of company obviously).
