@onu...The activist investor never asked for a merger. They asked to split WD. They are least bothered what happens thereafter.

OP in few days they will say that merger will be in Sept or Oct. They will say accelerated merger talks in process
The company never said there will be a merger. There is an activist investor that suggested it be done and WD has said over and over they are looking at strategic initiatives. The press has published rumors that they are in deep detailed discussions. We won’t know until it is formally announced if ever. Meanwhile control what you can.
I usually don't post on random forums, but due to high interests from employees, I will make an exception: merger will be announced this coming Monday.
