Cisco is constantly tweaking the HR process and legal documents. We’re the foremost leader in the industry on doing layoffs and doing them well. We have it down to a science, It’s part of our financial success. We constantly pretend we care about people. I don’t think anything is going to change until the senior leadership changes.

Yes, HR is clearly their for the corporation!
Of course, that is their job.
Yet HR pretends they are their to help the people.
Source?
Our HR team is among the highest percentage of the workforce of any large corporation
Numbers, please.
as we spend a lot of time and effort into controlling and brainwashing the troops.
Where does HR control and brainwash me? As I am controlled and brainwashed, I do not notice it. Please help me to understand.
Yes, HR is clearly their for the corporation! Yet HR pretends they are their to help the people. HR should just be honest and stop trying to pretend. Our HR team is among the highest percentage of the workforce of any large corporation as we spend a lot of time and effort into controlling and brainwashing the troops.
We are family is promoted, and is so far from the truth. It is who you know...
Welcome to your first day on earth. There is nothing remotely unique to Cisco here.
For those interested in history John Chambers was doing the "family" thing decades ago. Chuck just isn't as a good at being a con (which is short for "confidence") man.
The people deal proves that Cisco doesn't care about people.
the company is beholding to shareholders
Not any more. Now it’s “stakeholders” which is defined by ESG ”charities”
We are family is promoted, and is so far from the truth. It is who you know in Cisco, otherwise you will be used. It's actually a very dysfunctional company. ELT is always trying to brainwashing us, and many people buy into it. So sad!!!
HR is there for the company not the employee, never has been at any company. They are there for the protection of Cisco from YOU and any liabilities.
HR has to have a friendly Employee Face - we care etc.
But the company is beholding to shareholders and acts in its own best interest
Don't fall for the "we are a family" nonsense. I'm sure the folks in HR believe it, believed in "the people deal" etc. - but the Company is out for Itself.
You should be taking care of yourself too.,
More like Cisco's employees keep suddenly discovering things that are 40 years old and that they're the first to figure it out. Posts like this confirm Cisco is not cutting deep enough.
