Skilled trades is VERY DIFFERENT than an IT staffer or engineer. Get real.
The UAW currently represents both skilled trades and assembly line workers in the plants.
They're different jobs and don't have to be treated exactly the same and make exactly the same money.
That's something you've come up with on your own.
Maybe the strike is a good time for us to reach out to the UAW to bring IT and Engineering into the mix? Any volunteers?
Imagine the freedom of mind to finally have job security. Of course this would also mean that was is good for the plant workers will have to be good for us. No more working from home, wearing headphones, walking away from your work station. "Collective" means "collective". You can't have it better than anyone else in the union. Oh and our pay would need to be normalized. For equity. I'm in! Let's do it!

No. What is stupid and greedy is demanding people work in challenging conditions with no cost of living adjustments. The average UAW worker makes $52,771 a year*. 1% increases yearly and no COLA. They absolutely should strike! Shame on you for saying they are stupid.
