Anyone request to be laid off by a manager and how did that go?

Why? Managers don't know yet how many from their teams might go, if any.
Bold move! Congratulations on the outcome
Been there, done that already. I requested a severance package after I told my manager that I had no confidence in his leadership and that I was done with him. I then reached out to our VP and explained my position. They gave me what I wanted, exactly.
Very easy ... To not look like a* mention to your manager that severance package looks very generous. Then hope for the best.
If that did not work out and broadcom wants to keep you, then you will have another chance when management will schedule 1:1 with your. Simply ask them how strict is Broadcom's se-ual harassment policy.
100% guaranteed results.
I have been very vocal with my manager I want to be laid off do hopefully they take me into consideration
I mentioned to my boss that if they were asked to cut into the folks they wanted to keep (every team has a few low performers tbh) I would take a package if that would help someone else who wanted to stay and keep their job. It was simply acknowledged with no spin, positive or negative. Seemed like it might not have been the first time she had heard this.
OP, you go about it first and let us know how it went for you.
