Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

Raytech temps

Anyone have info on how/ when layoffs will affect these workers? These Temps are not contracted workers or self employed by definition, yet they receive no benefits, no PTO, no holiday pay. Any info helps please.

RayTech was hRTN own internal contractor house. Although, RayTech employees are considered contractors, they were never issued a contractor badge, or had the -NR in the email address, identifying them as contractors. They got the same benefits as an employee, but had to purchase their benefits themselves outright. The only benefits they didn’t receive was PTO.

The temps work for the agency not Raytheon thus no benefits, PTO, etc. They might be retained during layoffs to fill the gap of those that left since it is cheap labor. Just dont expect to get hired full time since that is the goal. One SCM Director started out as a temp 20 years ago and now he is a bis shot.

Thanks for the insight. I noticed a few recruiters (remote) got laid off in July but the news didn't trickle down, nor was it talked about. Guess I'll start saving and looking since I'm a temp and can easily be on the chopping block.

There is no context in your message. I left before the merger so I'm not sure if up is down or down is up at RayTurd. I will say this...Raytheon did have to tendency to start to roll people off before October when the Fed Govt books close for the year. Sometimes that ends up as Hushed layoffs around Thanksgiving and Christmas so no one notices and doesn't hurt morale.
Hint to the HR folks...people talk, everyone notices, you're id--ts. Please go get a real degree.
