Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Prospective Employee

I’m considering a role listed as remote. Looking at some of the comments here are mentioning RTO. Is the job location a lie?

This company is not worth the effort. Despite its enormous size, profitability and global recognition, the compensation and pressure are simply not worth it. Every year around this time it is fasten your safety belts! Who's next on the lay ff merry go round. Is it me? You? All of us? Add to that the bold face lie that "Work that works" was when it was rolled out a few years ago. The idea at the time made a lot of sense. Shape your day around what works for you, your customers and your team. In many cases, that could be working remotely and coming into the office if and when needed. Then the poor excuse for a CEO in essence scolds us into the need to return to the office for productivity. What a joke! Many people restructured their lives around working remotely. But in the end PepsiCo loses because that extra hour or two or more spent working productively from home will now be spent commuting and NOT servicing customers. If you are unfortunate enough to be part of this organization - give the bare minimum during your remaining time. If you are close to retirement - might be worth it to wait for a package if and only if you can stand the stress. If not, polish up your resume and get out while you can. Eventually most of the non delivery, non production jobs will be overseas anyway and there will be nothing left but the imbeciles in NY, Plano and Chicago who run this mess.

If you're looking for job security, go elsewhere. Pepsi is trash.

If you truly want a remote job PepsiCo is not for you. Limited opportunities and advancement. Terrible inclusion for remote workers. But, if you’re flexible and can be in an office it’s a great place for experience. Just don’t stay too long. Layoffs are an annual occurrence.

yes - I was in a fully remote job that was listed fully remote and was told I would have to go in person 4 days a week at a local office, despite no one on my team being co-located with me.

I found another job with an outside company...when it comes to Pepsi, RUN!
