Does anyone know when the severance package is supposed to be paid out ????

Some states say paid for work preformed which severance is not. In PA you used to be able to collect both at the same time for that reason. Now severance is called out. But if severance is paid as a lump sum that is earned in the week paid and doesn't apply to all other weeks. It sounded like Crown is paying lump sum. Note: PA may have further updated their language to include the time period covered by lump sums instead of week paid. Pesky legislators closing the loop holes.
Read up on your states laws and if its worth it ask an attorney. Don't ask the people at unemployment - many will steer you towards no benefits.. Just doing their job. And don't read with starry eyes - unemployment fraud would be way more stressful than this.
Ohio rejected my first two weeks claims due to the severance…I think it’s important to file the claim but do not submit weekly claims until the date that your week to pay ratio runs out (showing you have no further compensation coming per week)….then start the weekly claim submits…it’s the only chance I got.
You should always file for unemployment benefits. Many states will allow you to get benefits and severance at the same time. Such as California Depending on the amount of your severance, PA will reduce you benefits or will delay the beginning of the benefit period until after the severance period expires -- then your six months benefit period will begin.
My state said no unemployment due to severance. Severance is higher. However, the state also said that Crown filed the actual separation is actually in October so per them I'm not unemployed until September due to the WARN act.
This is for Georgia.
Has anyone been successful at filing for unemployment insurance in their state or Pennsylvania with the severance not being issued yet? Do you simply not claim the week of its arrival date? Thanks for the input :)
You should have received an email to your home email address that shows all of the dates depending on when you sign
It's different depending on the situation. It's on the paperwork.
2-5 weeks after you sign the paperwork.
