Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

Layoffs announced officially yesterday

So the rumours turned out to be true and now the execution has begun.

Didn’t AM state august last year that we will cut once and we will cut deep? Didn’t he repeat this in every all-hands meeting? This is going to be extremely detrimental for our people, as we thought and were told that cuts are now behind us.

Has anyone actually confirmed this? I haven't had a job in months... maybe I was layed off and they forgot to tell me?

"Lack of Internal Controls" on REPEAT!

✓ SS NEGLECTED to manage Ethics/Employee Reports/Employee Protections

✓ Employees who reported that process wasn't followed were either terminated or written up on a plan for speaking up

Not only did SS get a BONUS for not doing her job and not protecting Avaya, she retained her job.

And now employees are being threatened to stay silent when it's AGAINST the Law!?!?

Some things never change

Despite it being in violation of labor laws, those impacted are being told they are not allowed to speak of layoffs or risk their severance

Avaya CONTINUES to Violate Federal US Law by sending non disclosure legal language to all exiting employees (they pathetically even send them to employees who have resigned)

*Companies can't enforce silence for severance pay, Labor Board rules

Companies can no longer offer severance agreements that prevent employees from making disparaging remarks about their former employer, the National Labor Relations Board ruled Tuesday.

The big picture: The federal agency said these agreements require employees to waive their rights under the National Labor Relations Act, and that such policies are a violation of the act.

According to the NLRB, "the employer’s offer is itself an attempt to deter employees from exercising their statutory rights, at a time when employees may feel they must give up their rights in order to get the benefits provided in the agreement."
Employees also cannot be prevented from disclosing the terms of their severance packages as outlined in any exit agreement, the NLRB said

SS will be the last and will shut off the lights with an evergreen payout. She will find away to be paid by Avaya for life

But of course the reports are True. The reports have ALWAYS proven to be real.

Funny -- the HIGHEST Paid project manager in corporate America is behind it all. SS knows FxCK nothing about operations, growth, corporate anything. She was useless as a General Counsel. She should be in Jail. Yet she is leading change?

Ha ha ha ha HA HA HA!

Bound to happen…but you know what is sad about this? SS is leading this transformation… SS, the most overpaid executive in the company.

Expect anything less? Let’s review:

I’m not here to go bankrupt
I’m not here to manage a private company
Mr. King, this is temporary, we will make it through this as a public company
We will rip off the band aid once and future cuts will be normal hygiene
Your 401k will return after the next board meeting
