Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Those That Defend PepsiCo

I have actually seen some people write on this site that ex employees are just crying when they get laid off (these people are trolls that seek any kind of attention).

The people that defend PepsiCo, most likely have dodged the layoffs every 2 years and are still there.

A little insight from someone that got laid off late 2022. The reason people are 'crying' is because leadership makes a decision not to protect their employees but to put their employee's livelyhood at stake therefore putting their family at risk.

In some cases do people get laid off cause they are not making the cut or can be cheaper to offshore? Of course they are! That said speaking to a lot of people let go the last round of layoffs, most of these people had a wealth of knowledge, had excellent reviews year after year but still were sent packing right before Christmas.

The point is very few people are safe at PepsiCo, this is a fact that has been proven for the last decade. So for those people that want to make silly comments like people are crying, just remember there is a very good chance that you may be laid off one day putting you and your family at risk, not to mention in this enconmy it will bring you a lot of stress.

A lot of PepsiCo's leadership are corrupt and or shady. I have had only 2 managers provide solid feedback to enhance my career. The other dozen or so managers don't provide any feedback and still make a decision to let you go even if you work you butt off everyday cause you take pride in your work.

Lol, according to these betas, women don't have "skilled talent" to sell sugar water in blue cans. Give me a break

Pepsi is smart. They have made it a goal to increase women and diversity hires, and have passed on more skilled talent to satisfy those goals. More and more times you walk into a room with nothing to learn from anyone else in there. And while doing this, they ar saving themselves money because those candidates are ok with a lower salary.

You don't have to defend Pep to notice this posting sounds it's coming from an entitled child. Better calll the waaambulance.

Yeah, you likely got laid off and replaced with some half-brained dot head over in India who works for 25% of what they paid you. It doesn't mean they company should "protect" the more expensive labor. The difference goes straight to the bottom line and makes up for the increased inflation everpresent in Biden's america.

If PepsiCo is so bad, feel free to go work elsewhere.

The only issue with the “business decision” is it’s often based on ageism or other factors that are pretty slimy. Seen it for years, will see it again. Those who cheerlead this type of behavior by any company are a bit off base in my opinion. I really hope they make a business decision with me, so I can get paid to exit this disaster.

This post sounds rather whiny. I was laid off in 2022 and it was for the best. Yeah we were told in December (waaa waaa) but you fail to mention we also got severance for months. Plus, when on your schedule is a good time to get laid off?

It’s annoying they practice race and gender-based discrimination under the guise of “diversity”, but it’s the way of the world nowadays.

At the end of the day, it’s a business decision. Just like you choosing to work for a company is a business decision. Either party can opt out at any time.

The people calling us whiners are probably management. I have no doubt they scan this site and I hope they can identify me when I call foul. I'm praying for a layoff this December.
