Small number today from PD in Ottawa, I think there were some in Waterloo as well. At least they got paid the holiday Monday.

Layoffs continue to happen in small batches. Heard a few folks were let go yesterday. These paper cut layoffs are flying under the radar. Question is, who is next?

@OP, you should ask 'F150 Guy'. He seems to know everything about when layoffs will happen. In fact, he was right once, about 2, 2.5 years ago. Too bad we dont see him around here too much anymore because he was called out for being an azz clown.

If all the people on here who claim they are fed up, actually quit. There won’t be any need for layoffs.

Won't be for awhile because:

  1. We have to wait for the UAW strike agreement (so finance can crunch the numbers).
  2. We have to wait until Mexico, India, Brazil and China are trained.
  3. We have to wait until the new hires are trained.
  4. Since investments will be down 8-10%, the Company may wait to see how many people will resign.

In the meantime, there's been a spending freeze on unnecessary purchases.

● As I see it, yes
● Most likely
● Outlook good
● Yes
● Signs point to yes

● Reply hazy, try again
● Ask again later
● Better not tell you now
● Cannot predict now
● Concentrate and ask again

● Don't count on it
● My reply is no
● My sources say no
● Outlook not so good
● Very doubtful

You're ok until the UAW contract is settled. I'd expect the big layoff to occur about 2-3 weeks after that.

Hard to say without knowing your details but if you are young enough to not have a nest egg you should be young enough to find new work in the event of layoff.

If you are older end and still don’t have a nest egg you should save up regardless of layoff
