Who else is tired of hearing Take Care Of Self in this whole process?

while some of what they're saying is incredibly applicable to other situations (focus on what you can control and such) they are missing one huuuuuuge point:
this entire thing is self imposed and we know it is happening.
It isnt like we are stranded on a desert island and trying to survive, or dealing with a situation where the end is totally unknown.. We all know what the end is, and more importantly what comes after with teams getting the shuffle. which makes what we can "control" right now totally moot. If we get laid off, that work will get buried and probably never see the light of day again, even if we stay, there is zero assurance we will be working on the same thing when our team gets changed. Even if we hand it off, the person owning that work might go "no i dont like this" and start over...
so all the leader rhetoric about continuing to work is just an exercise in futility. For any PL thinking this helps? it doesnt. be real. do what is needed just to keep the lights on for as long as is needed and let your team walk away the second it is done. cancel meetings, tell them to block their afternoons and enjoy eating lunch not at their desk.
tired of it all
If you really wanna take care of yourself do the absolute bare minimum for work, apply for multiple jobs, sign off early and do what that other post said and USE those sick days you didn’t use for years because you wanted to be a team player and still log on for that meeting to say “I agree” once while your lungs were falling out
HA it’s only gonna get worse after the reorg and RTO…
Get ready for poorly written knowledge articles and probs some “expert” to give a 30 min webinar where they share generic advice in hopes to keep you engaged… don’t worry there are multiple committees with dozens of people on each who don’t really know what they’re talking about trying to help you!
Use those sick days… unlike PTO they don’t get paid out when you leave
Sounds like you need to relax. Here are some tips for how you can take care of yourself today…
- Take a walk outside
- Get a massage
Focus on the clients (so the share price doesn't fall even further)
If it happens it happens. Don't let it consume you. Continue to work hard. This and the other two points are all great advice.
That and Don't worry about what you can't control.
