Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

The Market Speaks

Heads will roll

NetApp’s AFA revenue went down more than the market average, at 16 percent annually. Its hybrid/HDD array revenue did worse, falling 47 percent. Its share of the overall storage market, Rakers claims, “fell to a… low of 9.7 percent versus 11.1 percent in the year-ago quarter – the lowest level since 2009.”

Concentrating on Cloud is ki-ling NetApp.

George is in bed with his brother and screwing the company as a result.

Insider trading of the stock was never a good/bad indicator of the company. If bill gates did not spend hundreds of millions to hire a team to sell his Microsoft holdings, instead just do nothing, he would be the richest person in the world.

Meanwhile, a C-suite insider quietly sold 49,500 shares of NetApp stock this year and made zero buys. Why the heavy dump?

Netapp made several critical mistakes along the way to get to we’re they are today : flashray, solidfire, HCI, cloud. Nice job leadership!

I hate to say it, but NetApp went from being a leader to a follower, at least on prem. They're kind of a leader in cloud but it's such a small position does it really matter?
Everything NetApp has done in the past couple years is just a rip off of Pure even down to the naming of products. It's kind of sad. That being said I don't think anyone is really innovating much anymore in storage. Most the of the newer companies are mostly niche. I feel we're on the verge of a similar collapse to server.

I always love when the Cisco buying NetApp rumors come up. Cisco has been rumored to buy NetApp since like 2006. Every few years that rumor resurfaces. NetApp come to terms with the fact you are Cisco's side piece. They ain't going to marry you.

Because Cisco is smarter, like the person next to you.

NetApp is simply a “me too” storage company. No cutting edge hardware and product development is too long.

There’s a reason there’s a RIF coming before end of year. 🤓. It’s a matter of when, not if. Stay safe!
