Usually, if I don’t have a lunch meeting, I designate most of an hour from noon to 1pm to learning something related to my role. But for some reason today for the first time, I just couldn’t do it. I watched an episode of my favorite comedy show instead. I feel so unmotivated and burnt out. I briefly mentioned it to my manager and scheduled some time off. I hope to get my motivation back. Just wanted to vent.

If you didn’t break the picture then you have attained salvation @bea+1oV1y8Kr
@1jui+1oV1y8Kr Allowed? I do whatever I want for lunch breaks whether that's driving home, eating at my desk, etc. Outside of CS&S and client facing roles, your manager doesn't give a sh-t about what you do for lunch unless your manager is terrible.
@1jui+1oV1y8Kr - It depends on who you work for. I guarantee this person is nowhere near a customer facing position.
Extended lunches are allowed?
Still haven't had dinner yet. Saying too much.... Getting back to work.
I came into office feeling hungry, had brunch with my buddy thinking we'll skip lunch. To our surprise there was free food available in office, so had another lunch.
Not sure if I can call this extended extended lunch.
You know, I would not mind all the chaos if I was given free food everyday until it's done.
Shiiiii I been doin this since 2020 my boy
Ok.
I was too busy to take lunch. Worked right through that time. Still working. Will continue to be working. A lot of work ethic. Spoke too much already, gotta get back to working.
I told Alexa to play calming music and stared at a picture of Walt for an hour.
Your a lunatic
Well, I did an interview over lunch. Hoping to leave soon. Severance be damned if I can get a 20-25% pay raise at a new job.
OP here. I mentioned feeling burnt out. I wasn’t going to tell my Manager that I wasted my extended lunch. But they were very understanding and encouraged the time off.
