It’s a given that a layoff is a bad situation. But the process of this one has been real bad.
Announced months in advance. No date . No communication since then. Employees taking guesses. Mixed up with RTO changes and office messes. Employee mental health is down the drain. Next time just pull the band off.

I’d think they’d want to goose the stock price by announcing in Q3 earnings that they exceeded the $500M target.
True all speculation but before earnings call makes sense unless they want to announce they are “still working on it” = another drop in stock price vs. “it’s done” which would likely cause a temporary bump in price as before.
The MD who has no clue might be on the list.. sorry to say that and good luck... from what know some Directors reporting to MDs already have some clue.

Completely bungling every major decision and process in the last 6 months again good reason to be unhappy.

MD here. I don’t have anything around layoffs and I have been here for 15+ years. None of the others MDs and directors with who I have good rapport has any clue. We are all in blind.

this is how we reached the speculation and trying to find connections to figure out a date, who it will be first and how many of us are on the block.
regardless of when, itll be inconvenient and wont make sense because there is no "good date" in october to do it in. just gotta be prepared for whenever it does go down. If it isnt tomorrow? we live to fight another day, but there is no promise it wont be the next day, or the one after that. and anything you hear can easily be contradicted by what someone else hears (even if both sources are reliable, this is by design).
