At least your Branch Manager got the number of days for September and October correct. I would not have been surprised if a BM said the two possible dates are Sept 31 and October 30. Thank you BM.

There is so SO much back end work that goes into it for a company this size. The date (or dates) have been set for awhile and there’s been teams working round the clock preparing for it. Schwab needs to meet federal regulations AND state so they’re preparing for all the different states the org operates in (California alone takes a lot). Then there’s the distribution prep of email notification, meeting scheduling etc. doing it off the market isn’t the way it’s done
My spouse was on a team that prepared layoffs for their company last year and it was literally weeks of work to get ready for a specific date and working over the weekend right before it happened. It’s not a button they just push when it’s good for the stock price
People are hired to decide the layoff date based on stock market conditions. This is not a date which will be decided few weeks in advance. It will be decided few days before they do the layoffs.
3500 FTEs and 0 contractors. Contractors will not be part of the layoff cycle. They redo contracts for January and most might not keep the contracts.
