Layoffs will continue as long as managers-directors-VPs get bonuses playing games and launching useless initiatives. Simple as that
It’s very easy to know if someone quit (or something similar) try to message them and they won't answer as they are “never” online….as for email that will go into a sinkhole.
And it’s not everyday it's happening
Your best bet is to backup all emails and message and have a copy with you, play the political games like the directors do and you should be ok

Of course more is coming. Look at how security engineering is being piled up under one director. As they EOL skus they’ll shed the supporting engineers and the director will get the bonus for doing such an efficient job. NPI for security is in the rear view mirror.
