Correction: I didn't read the comment below. Yes, TD Bank is a separate company.
@4kdq+1oOh0y1m No TD bank does not own those numbers you mentioned. They are a different company and not right now related to Schwab. Their Warn notices has no bearing with Schwab layoffs. Please do not speculate and overthink.
OP here. There is no date set for the layoffs. You might think about closing the books this year, holiday season etc being the driver for October 1st week. Unfortunately it’s just not happening this week as CS is not ready with it. No one really knows the exact date.
@4rwv+1oOh0y1m
TD Bank owns over 10% of Schwab's Stock shares and I don't know the exact number but they held a lot of TD Ameritrade shares before the aquisition. Wouldn't say they aren't related.
TD bank is a different company and not related to TDA or Schwab.
WARN notice went up today in New Jersey - it’s listed as TD Bank, 100 people and 12/6/23 is their last day
Weekend?
Did Schwab actually add another holiday? No.. that would mean change. Better to keep things the same. Let’s keep it archaic like the promotion process
Vote to change schwabs motto to “this is the way it’s always been done”
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
@1bai+1oOh0y1m What do you expect?
We are reflections of our environment.
If you work at a circus, you’re gonna act like it
Ladies and gentlemen. These here are Schwab employees. Staff. Yep,
- Go to bed.
- Your Mother’s maiden name
- Your rock band name (your underwear color appended with your credit card digits)
- The number of days until you meet your true love (credit card check code appended with the 3 digit security code)
More for the list:
- Are you a morning or an evening po---r
- Do you put your pants on one leg at a time or both at once
- Ketchup on eggs? Y or N
13 - Any dependencies?
WARN act, if they wanna get it in for Q4 they need to do it start of Q4 or by 1 Nov at that absolute latest..
The closer it gets to the holidays and RTO, the less time there is for teams to get their sh*t straight and corporate real estate to figure out who sits at what desk..
Start of Q4 (next week) makes a lot of sense
Adding further to the list:
- Preferred pronouns
- Preferred adjectives
- Preferred adverbs
- Favorite season of Project Runway
Q4 ends December 31st
Dennis did confirm that it will start in Q4. Guess what, Q4 starts next week.
The entire purpose of this site is to speculate- It’s listed on the homepage
Adding further to list:
- Title
- Years in role
- Years in Schwab
- Base salary
- Green or Blue
- Job satisfaction level (1 - 5)
next week meeting to make sure they take great care and treat everyone with respect.
Adding to the list:
- Blood type
- How many jobs you’ve applied to recently
- Number of send words you’ve received
- Whether or not you’ve fully vested your ESPP
On any futher posts regarding dates please provide the following details:
- Confidence level (1% to 100%)
- Direct knowledge (came from a MD or higher) or indirect knowledge (you heard it from a source who heard it some other source and so on).
@jre+1oOh0y1m is that the planning meeting to prepare for the speculation meeting?
We need a follow up meeting to discuss what was shared in that meeting
Take it or leave it. The first phase of layoffs will be this Tuesday.
@krg+1oOh0y1m My other call is running late and will join shortly.
I know that you know that we both know the date may be set, I think we need to all hop on a meeting to discuss further.
Sounds to me like we should continue to speculate wildly
@wdk+1oOh0y1m You wasted too much time typing the speculation.
The date is set and I know. Well many of us know. But we are under an explicit NDA. The ones that know also know we are not impacted. You won't be getting any information here on the actual target date. Any dates given in a post is pure speculation at this point.
Good luck.
Again you all are speculating.
“No date is set”? No, you just haven’t been told the date.
Mass layoffs have so much background work going on, especially since they use an external firm too.. of course a date is set. Date was probably set before they announced it to the public
Don’t believe the internal positive spin and the leaders acting like it’s all fine. It’s happening and most likely soon
If the date isn’t set by now then we have bigger problems…. I mean if you can’t effectively execute a layoff… with consultants helping every step of the way… after months of prep time…
I’m sure the date is set and it will happen when leadership wants it to happen.
@azy+1oOh0y1m could you be more cryptic?
The date is set. I know.
Doubtful that “no date is set” yet.
You think a company that requires 7 layers of approvals for the trivial things will just plan a mass reorg and not have a date set?
Then again they planned an RTO without realizing there weren’t enough t desks… so who knows
