Anyone had this bombshell dropped on them? Now need to tell the kids that Christmas is canceled.

Indentured servitude, know your place; and like it.
It is that simple. You have to be at peace about being owned by Arabs. You have to be at peace that you are breathing air that may well, eventually, ki-l you. You are a slave to $. But then again who isn’t.
Do you have enough $$$ stashed? Confident to find another job elsewhere? If yes to both, then walk in to your manager's office and impose your will. Quit on the spot if he insists. Time to go, don't tolerate the BS.
If you have no choice but to continue to slave away in Aramco, then sorry, they own you. They may say all the right things but it's just lip service. Those turds don't really give a rat's a$$ about you. Sooner you accept this, the less stressful it gets. It's that simple.
It's simple....Shut up or go home. What could be easier?
Taking a stand in Aramco is su----e! A expat complaining is a shortcut to the surplus list (maybe that’s what the OP wants). Either quiet quit, or just quit.
Take a stand and don’t be an a-s kissing yes boy.
If you are in the list for layoffs in December, then, the company can recall any repat not used and pay only for vacation days, this means in other words, for a family of 4 and based on your salary a deduction from 15k to 30 k of your final payment.
You have no rights, Aramco owns you. Look at how they treat those from the subcontinent. In their eyes you are well treated!
They will work you into the ground until you collapse from exhaustion or have a mental breakdown. They will then blame you, fabricate lies, claim you are weak and fire you with no severance. They don’t give a sh1t.
No amount of pay can make up for not having sufficient downtime. There is a direct link between productivity and time off. The imbecilic Saudi management can’t even work that out.
Pro tip: always schedule repats as early as possible in the year. At the end of the year managers are always eager to cancel vacations to meet deadlines to show they're doing something.
Another welcome to the circus.
Best just accept it that being at a Saudi’s beck and call is the price you pay. And boy do they love having such control over western expats.
That's why you guys get the big bucks.
Multiple times. Missed multiple weddings and even a long planned trip to Vegas.
Always was based on some excuse of a high priority target that had to be met. Surprisingly, none were met as some other cruicial team member was always away on leave. I won't mention which payroll they were under.
