Company STILL can’t figure out how to make this stuff properly even after all these years, mired in lawsuits, under close scrutiny as it exits the business??? C’mon.

The company is so indisciplined in its manufacturing management. The manufacturing world has long ago adopted and proudly built into their culture the disciplines of great manufacturing companies like Toyota, but 3M is a company whose culture is still dictated by empty suits.

If they don't invest in the supporting services such as waste treatment, of course this stuff will leak into the environment. 3M needs to treat PFAS similarly to how a nuclear power plant would treat nuclear waste. Set up the handling and treatment properly before manufacturing and constantly monitor and repair as required. Too bad the company's approach has always been a "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". You can't tell if this is broken until the environmental agencies are at your doorstep!
