Thread regarding Disney layoffs

Iger

The longer he stays... the further the decline will be.

I just cant stand so many talented people being let go. Films and shows deteriorate, Revenue drops, profitability plummets...all the while, management goes on with raises and shares of stock. Something from the late days of Rome, like does Iger have a horse thing or know how to play the violin when fires are close?

Just not sure his vision is sound on this one. It's hard for anyone to look at their life's work with honesty... that self-assessment is even more difficult for an ego. Ego drives you to do great things. But, its not serving him or us in this moment. Can we draft a new CEO this season? Maybe give radical democracy a go?

How about a new TV show called 'The Pasture'.... it could have Tom Brady, Bob Iger, and one of the GE CEOs.... The show follows the arc of high powered retirees transitioning from being one of the most important people in their heyday, to their current position of not being good enough anymore, and finally through their crippling depression as they lose their position.... Viewers then follow them through that crippling depression to what they rediscover as meaning on the other side.

This company won’t make it long enough to reach the 2030 Goals set in 2020. Everyone that formed these initiatives (except iger) are already gone and the business has been bleeding money ever since. It makes no sense why the mods here would care unless you’re right that Disney is watching.

“This year we met our 2020 environmental goals and set ambitious new 2030 goals, accelerated our initiatives addressing racial and social injustice, and we continue to strengthen our ESG transparency.”
In June 2020, CEO Bob Chapek launched a new Company-wide initiative composed of six pillars focused on increasing D&I: Transparency, Representation, Accountability, Community, Content and Culture. The Company also announced a new CEO D&I Council, led by Bob Chapek, and a Creative Inclusion Council, led by Bob Iger

I don’t understand the point of a site like this if criticizing the decisions that lead to layoffs is verboten

disney must be in direct contact to the people who run this site. there's no other explanation for the removal of so many posts and replies that are offensive to nobody except the clowns running the circus.
