Jobs will be lost throughout the country to Houston, whether it’s through forced moves, terminations, or attrition, all signs point to Texas.
Q: “Personal Growth/Development is something I am very interested in, but with the recent layoffs it seems that all senior manager roles and above will only be backfilled in Houston. Is this an accurate statement? What does the career path look like for a national team member in our Southpointe location? Specifically, will new roles/promotions require folks to move to Houston? The push for new National roles to be centralized in Houston is making myself and my peers question our futures at Crown.”
A: “National VP and Director roles will be filled in Houston going forward. We want to encourage your personal development and we hope that means a long-term career at Crown Castle, but even if your journey eventually leads you to another career, we want to support your growth while you're here. There are regional leadership roles that exist in addition to national roles, and other routes to growth such as higher levels of individual contributor roles or moving to another discipline at the same level to broaden your experience. We believe there is a lot of opportunity at Crown Castle in various locations. Additionally, we support teammates in your growth with extensive learning options through the learning hub and through our college tuition reimbursement program.”

Q: “Can you confirm that another round of layoffs isn't being discussed or coming down the pike? After the last round, and with our stock value dropping, I think a lot of people are nervous and would appreciate some reassurance - especially as we approach the end of the year and the holiday season.”
A: “As any disciplined business does, we will continue to evaluate macro-economic events, changes in our industry and customers, and opportunities or challenges that arise in our company. If changes are needed to serve our shareholders, customers, and teammates, we will make them, but we'll always make them through the lens of our values and who we are. We are both stewards of other people's capital, and people matter.”

Q: “As time has passed, there seems to be a push to slim down the employee base in Southpointe (especially at a leadership level). What is the long-term plan for this office location?”
A: “We have made the decision to move or backfill national VP and Director positions in Houston and locate many other roles there. This is a strategic move that we believe will help us be more successful in streamlining and simplifying the way we work, and by bringing us together for greater collaboration. The strategy is not focused on slimming down any particular office, but rather bringing people together at our corporate headquarters. We are currently in the process of closing the Summit office and moving teammates to the two owned buildings in order to bring teammates together.”

Q: ”Have there been discussions about moving teammates to Houston within offices that are not being closed? If yes, what roles have been discussed?”
A: “In thinking about where a particular team or role can be most effective, we look at a variety of factors, and we continue to evaluate the best ways for us to work together. We believe that we are better when we are together, and that for national roles it makes the most sense for those teams to be at our corporate headquarters in Houston. National VP and Director roles generally will be filled or backfilled in Houston, and we expect that over time, many national roles will migrate to Houston.”

This is a woman who specializes in her own business in getting MONEY for big churches. She may dress like a Christian, but the similarity ends there.
