Thread regarding Ford layoffs

THIS is Ford

  1. If Ford is somehow able to entertain or meet the demands of the UAW unlike Stellantis and GM, perhaps that's an indication that they truly have been screwing the hourly workers for years.
  2. Ford is always measuring itself against the performance of its competitors, yet when their competitors do something like draw a hard line in the sand with regard to negotiations, Ford does its own thing. Is this an indication that Ford leadership is genius, or is it an indication of why Ford is always seemingly chasing its competitors rather than leading?
  3. I don't know anyone at a working level at Ford that's received a 40 percent raise over the last decade and a half.
  4. Considering that Ford has been cutting salaried employees and relocating jobs to countries with low cost labor while constantly reminding salaried they need to do more with less quicker than ever for quite some time now, how is they seem to have the means to even entertain the UAW's demands?
  5. Someone is going to pay for any agreement that is made, and thats surely going to be low GSR's for sure, starting with their bonuses that will be used to fund the UAW ratification bonus, followed by additional heads count reductions and cuts in benefits.
  6. This contract date has been on the calendar looming for 4 years now. Are we supposed to believe the executives had no idea this was coming? My point is that this just indicates how bad the lack of real leadership really is. There's a lot of executive talking and posturing, but no real leadership ... no real doing. Remember that these are people who have time to spend at race tracks or driving around the country looking for charging stations ... promoting cute little catch phrases like "Gimba" and "mastery", but did they coordinate with the other automakers or the UAW to understand and address their differences? Nope ... and here we are.

I see someone has made sure to remember what they were told to think, and then missed when all those particulars turned out to have zero supporting evidence. Please remember that pretty much everything anyone tells you "really is true", but doesn't show you the actual evidence instead, is manipulating you for their own benefit.

Back in 2008, the UAW gave up a lot. Since then, their pay hasn't gone up much. At least I've been getting 3% a year. In 15 years it's gone up 45%, so yes, the UAW workers deserve 40%

Let’s face it Ford should have hundreds of millions of dollars to give the UAW members that they stole from the thousands of salaried employees they targeted before they hit 55 years old so they didn’t have to give them pensions.

Ford appears ready to give the workers what they want. The only ones happier than the IAW will be our Mexico colleagues as our PD and Testing will follow suit to south of the border.

..."I don't know anyone at a working level at Ford that's received a 40 percent raise over the last decade and a half.....

The 'working level' is the problem. Both Mulally and Billy got at least a 48% increase from 2009 to 2010.

"DETROIT -- The President and CEO of Ford Motor Co. received a pay package valued at $26.5 million in 2010, up 48 percent from 2009, according to an analysis by The Associated Press."

"Bill Ford, the great-grandson of company founder Henry Ford, got almost as big a package as his CEO. Ford's compensation was worth $25.2 million, up 56 percent from 2009, when he received $16.2 million, according to the AP analysis."
