Call Center 'spin' by Management

"It was only like 50 people". The Call Center staff who don't read articles, are buying that statement from their leader.

And "only 50 people" (maybe just the CC /ROC total).... how crass (even if were true) - like no big deal or anything.

People who don't know what their future looks like, beg to differ with that sentiment, sir.

I wonder if the spin that management has deployed is due to lack of empathy or ignorance; most likely a combination of both.
There have been many comments about the bloated middle management but we need the people managers that are part of middle management. This is the group that keeps the remaining employee's focused and doing the day to day work.
The bloating is with the people who spend their time producing metrics and then make excuses on why their plan is not working. This group quickly pushes the blame down to the frontline employees and refuses to acknowledge that maybe the reason something is not working is due to their errors in their planning.
