The article did a very bad job at tongue-in-cheek criticism. The reality is that the strikes are not going to hurt the wealthy. They are going to destroy all of the surrounding businesses near the plants, and also harm the workers at the nonunion factories, who are supplying the parts. Nonunion plant workers make a fraction of what union workers make. If they demand more money, they lose their jobs. Then, when the UAW strikes, they are laid off because there’s no work to do. These are the real victims in the situation. Make no mistake about it. No one ever brings up these people. Many of us grew up in families that were affected by this. Including myself! how many of you have been laid off because of a UAW strike? Cynically, claiming that it only hurts the wealthy is actually doing a disservice to the real working people.
