But, but, record profits!

That's how they justify mary's 40% pay hike.

GM already has left the country. Since GM has lost its major position in the automotive industry with badge engineering, they pulled out of most markets. Its a company that really operates in China and sells vehicles in the US, Canada, Mexico, and select areas of South America such as Brazil.

Since GMNA claims to be broke all the money for the bonuses must come from SGM.

Wow joining the UAW has to be right up there with joining the United Way. Give them money to spend on themselves. You are asking GM to move out of the country.

"In a perfect world, the UAW would represent all employees at GM"

In a perfect world, people who want to unionize would contact a union and have a vote. That's the very first step of the process. The UAW simply can't claim GM departments as members.
That's how it works. It's shocking that you don't know this.

In a perfect world, the UAW would represent all employees at GM and the other auto companies and supplier companies, regardless of their role.

Okay. Why is the focus on only engineers and IT for unionization? There are many other groups outside who are salaried in GM who would be interested who are not engineers or in IT.

Please don’t be so myopic when planning this. Thanks.
