It's been 12 years since I left IBM for greener pastures. 12 years ago the IBM offices were old and tired, employees in the office were required to clean the desk after use, empty the garbage bins, and bring their own coffee mugs and tea/coffee because IBM were too cheap to supply them.
Other companies supply their workers with free drinks, recreation facilities, a pleasant environment where their work is appreciated. I don't think that the IBM working environment has improved in the intervening 12 years.
And they wonder why nobody who is any good wants to work for them for half the money they get anywhere else.
