UAWBenchmark to southern plants

Per this link

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/uaw-contract-demands-big-3-automakers-union-deadline/

“If you include the value of their benefits, workers at the Detroit 3 automakers receive around $60 an hour. The corresponding figure at foreign-based automakers with U.S. factories is just $40 to $45, Katz said. Much of the disparity reflects pensions and health care.”

UAW over-reaching?

We'll have to wait and see how our political leaders respond to this in MI/OH/MO. That's a pretty politically diverse group of states. It'll be interesting to see if they support their union workers or the corporations.

Texas will never outlaw EV sales. It is the new home of Tesla. In fact, the amount of EV sales in red states is booming. It's an ideal climate for the most part. EV sales in red states is the future of EV sales.

Ford and GM are typically one or one and a half recessions away from bankruptcy. UAW shrieking about windfall profits, but don’t seem to understand fragility of the auto industry. It’s why stock market does not award auto stocks with high PE ratios.

It’s high time several red states group together to ban EV sales in 2030.

T-t for tat, that will show NY and California

Biden and Jenny from the block granholm will rot in the bed they’ve pushed with the green new deal. California and New York are allowed by EPA to ban ICE vehicles, lo and behold big three need much fewer workers. If I heard it correctly Lincoln EV will soon be coming from China.

So now Biden is stuck between a rock and a hard place. uAW threaten to not endorse him in 2024. Bill Ford and Mary Barra are seen as villains by UAW for eeking out a 3% and 6% profit margin, respectively. Windfall profits, as they’re called.
These ‘excessive profits’ claimed by UAW are needed by GM and Ford for R&D to develop EV’s mandated by the leftists in California, New York, granholm and Biden.

Meanwhile Biden’s favorite darlings of tech, google, apple, Microsoft and the happy to censor Facebook have profit margins of 22%-44%, have most jobs offshores and more to go, and do not have unions. Where is ‘union guy’ joe Biden on this aspect?

I bet Biden caves, and ups the EV incentive to $1500-$2000 per car to placate both sides, and UAW gets some scraps from this for the contract period. Kick the can down the road.

Meanwhile taxpayer once again gets hosed as this gets piled onto the national debt.
