The only people they need to strike are the forklift drivers and have OSHA patrol the plants.

Too bad Edison Assembly is not around? Seems like New Jersey would have a strong union presence.

KCAP and KTP didn't get struck because Ford Canada makes engines for those plants. The union contract there expires Monday night, so Canada may go on strike then. If they settle then you'll see the UAW strike the truck plants.

They need to strike Kansas City and KTP to make a difference.

Sadly, this one could be very different. Nobody really has an advantage. There are a lot of places in Europe that are making cars harder to use, pushing mass transit, EVs and inflation is eroding buying power everywhere. Those trends are making their way into our urban areas - albeit slowly. So shutting down one or many plants (as long as banks float terms on revolving credit lines for the big 3) isn't really a big deal. I'm sure it will make supply chain problems worse, it's already bad so not much of a pressure point IMHO. People getting fired, plants closing, lost benefits when loved ones need help... That pain is real and we haven't seemed to evolve (UAW or Companies) to where, if we cared about people, we'd surely have figured out how to help those in that dire situation. Then there's a ton of investor money outside of the car business betting on entry of Chinese manufactured cars for our market. Remember those folks want to make money too and the Big 3 can't stop them from trying. Who knows what the government will or won't do in light of all the powerful players in this fray.

Yup, this one is very different. The external forces are powerful and have competing agendas. Good luck everybody, hope it's a speed bump and not an extinction event.
