Thread regarding Pratt and Whitney layoffs

Oct 10th

Heads up, were currently complying the list for our department. In previous downsizing we've been asked who we'd like to get rid of and then the number of layoffs would match. This time they are giving gave us a firm 15% reduction which is going to impact good employees. I'm pi---d.

If anyone knows anything deal then please post it.
But posting rumors that your mom’s neighbor’s friend’s dog groomer told them isn’t helpful.

Thursday afternoons are apparently the best times for conducting layoffs. Wait and Watch.

Would new employees in DT be affected first? Would there be multiple rounds of layoffs?

Is the comment about other RTX BUs taking a hit referencing the layoffs in September? Or is there another round of layoffs coming to RTX as a whole in October?

To answer the low performer comment - I'm trying to hit just low performers but my group has people that are all outperforming others in their labor grade. I know I'm also on a list too. It's just a matter of time before Pratt folds. Incompetent management. Shane's got to pay for another boat. Calio's got to pay for another hair transplant. Greg's got to buy yacht.

What if your department doesn’t have low performers?

DT is not safe this time. DT is overstaffed and they are non direct charge employees. Mostly CT DT will be 30% reduction. I only know because leadership asked us to provide a list for low performance employees.

I'll say that at the ELC it was said a minor reduction in headcount mainly to remove lower performers and that other RTX BUs are going to take more of a hit. If you're supporting the shop you should be ok. Expect engineering to get hit.

Any updates on the layoff ? Are you stating that Oct. 10 is the layoff date? Is that all of Pratt or only certain locations? Thanks

I heard Collins is going to take the brunt of the lay off since Pratt took a bigger hit for the COVID layoff….. Peace out to the poor people at Collins who will have a (sarcastic) Happy Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas this year on unemployment
