Hopefully Stern will recognize the debacle this whole group is, costing $3 billion per year with nothing to show for it is not sustainable. What is Stern doing his first 90 days? No news since his hiring.
@5cle+1oB45FYH I’m pretty sure it was him I saw at Somerset Mall in the handbag department.
Any one hear from FLV lately?
@4muv all those trips to London and Palo Alto mainly occurred to get ff miles and hotel points to cover family vacations.
@4muv CM never had an original idea in his life and has never had a job anywhere other than Ford. This is where he perfected his use of brown nosing and taking credit for other people’s work. He is a fraud.
@2epl - Actually, tapping into the vehicle cameras was an idea generated from a small team (3 folks) in Palo Alto. CM saw a rough demo during one of his boondoggle visits and decided to “advance” the idea into a business model and took it as his own. He took the idea to his London Olympic Park team to further develop it and made many trips.
Based on the fact I never hear anything in the media about Ford Next or their star “service” canopy, or anything revenue positive they’ve accomplished, I would say they are hibernating.
Maybe Stern shut it down already, he should.
@1ypr I think that comes out of Europe, not Ford Next, but the idea that we have to create a separate LLC to provide vehicle security is ridiculous. That came from FLV and their need to create something, anything, that might make Wall Street think we were actually becoming a software and services company. That worked briefly, artificially inflating the stock price, but here we are, back where we were.
No other OEM has or needs the extra layer of management cost for vehicle security, why don’t we just make good door locks that keep unwanted intruders out? That sure seems more cost effective.
I did notice they aren’t calling it “canopy “ anymore, it is now “stolen vehicle services.”
@bmm+1oB45FYH the security cameras do not function as advertised and will be another failed Ford venture. Their premise is that when ADT notifies the police of a vehicle theft that the police come. They don’t. The police tell you to come into the station and make a report. If this is such a great idea, why does no other vehicle manufacturer need to make their vehicle security a separate company? The liability lawsuits will start the first time a “canopy” equipped vehicle is stolen.
Still wasting $3 BILLION per year with nothing to show for it. Hopefully Stern shuts it down and works on providing viable services.
Did you watch the 2024 F-150 reveal? We are including Ford Next security cameras feature. Ford Next is in an excellent shape.
ipn+1oB45FYH You lack morals. Go to church, temple or mosque and may your God go with you. FLV and Jim Farley are horrible people who do not deserve their positions in society.
Putting FLV on leave for frivolous accusations or even considering separating him for the obvious hit jobs by the automotive/national media is just awful. For Ford and for FLV and his friends/family.
I know the Ford Next activity is already regretting it.
Oe, still losing ove4 $3 BILLION per year, with zero viable products to show for it. When will Stern cut this clown show?
