Engineers are too smart for mutual protection.

John Galt wouldn't approve.

Let’s have that water cooler conversation between meetings to discuss collective bargaining.
People talk a big game about unionizing but I haven’t seen an opportunity to vote yet. What gives? Too much Netflix binging in the PJs?

At least Walmart can get parts to service vehicles; unlike GM CCA ( Confused Conceited and Arrogant)

There are record profits and there is a lot of money.

But they want to spend it on executive bonuses, not worker salaries.

I think in the near future they'll do a little trimming here and there, but no big layoffs.

I think they want "extra" salaried workers around during a possible UAW strike so they can step in and keep the business running.

After an agreement is made with the UAW, and extra people aren't needed, the big layoffs will begin.

Beware requests to "be a team player" and "go the extra mile" during a strike. You won't be rewarded afterwards.

GM keeps claiming they have record profits quarter after quarter.

If there's so much money, why are they removing a majority of the company?

Next round will be performance driven. They have been gathering data on this for three months. My guess is this data will get sent to a third party so that they can filter it down to low performers so that someone else looks like the bad guy. Upper management will then remove any names they don’t want on the list and then start the cuts. Then we will hear the same as in 2019. “Look, the data was compiled, your on the low end, and times are tough and hard decisions had to be made.

Are you winning with simplicity?
Cute Marxist slogans really ease the mind during the threat of defaulting on the mortgage.
Don’t worry, GM is allowing us to apply to other jobs. Is there a guarantee we will get hired by November 1? cough
Oh wait, they didn’t say where we could apply. Walmart?
