Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

We all need to be more mature and professional

I understand getting laid off is hard as I've been without a job before. But we all know that lashing out, ranting, and name calling don't help. Vent if you have to, but don't get carried away. Don't matter how much we complain here, or calling executives name, if we don't have a job, the only way to fix it is to find one.

Also try not post too much speculation and opiniated statements. If you heard credible rumors feel free to share after you put some thought about them. When we do this, the content quality here would improve and we wouldn't waste time too much on rants.

Do some mindfulness exercise and meditation, they would help in troubled times. We can't control the circumstances around us, but we can always control our mind and how we react to them. Good luck all!

No name calling. No meditation. Just an asking why step up to defend the 131st highest paid CEO in America, running a company that isnt in the top 1000 in profit or top 500 in revinue? Why defend people who celebrated at company funded parties the same day they laid off hundreads of loyal workers?

I hope you spoke up for those targetted for layoffs, like you are now speaking up for those who continue to enjoy million dollar bonuses and parties at their expense.

Personally, I think getting laid off wouldn’t be such a bad thing, since they do offer a decent vacation package. As for the execs, I can see why some people might harbor resentment towards them. Not to mention all of the negative press we’ve been getting, and their seemingly inability to get ahead of it, much less address the underlying issues. But I get it. It’s only business and if you take is personally, then you are far too invested in your job.

About as ignorant as a politician on their soap box detached from reality preaching "Do as I say, not as I do." There's another saying "Ignorance is bliss." It's hilarious how people feel the need to jump in and defend a random comment on the internet as if they were the target. Grow up, move on. HR should go firefighting their severe talent shortage and the God awful attrition crippling the company instead of posting cr-p about how green and diverse you are.
