Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Anyone concerned about the UAW negotiations?

This guy seems serious. Could literally shut industry down. You think layoffs are bad now...if President has to jump in for sure work/jobs will move to MX

The whole lot of the salaried FnF should be assigned to do the UAW work. That should shut the blowhard do nothings up, and let the few US salaried workers who actually do work accomplish something while the FnF aren’t around to mess things up. But don’t send the blowhard fool from FC IT who tipped over the front loader at the Ford community service event, near miss fatalities that day!

Salary workers will have the option to work on the line. Your move, find a new job or work in the factory.

A short term strike is likely in Ford’s favor. They can use the work stoppage to “justify” the rumored end of September salary layoffs. They can then use the layoffs as rationale to not make concessions to the UAW.

They are already laying off Uaw workers at Uaw suppliers. Relative of mine got laid off a few weeks ago mid shift. I think oem and Uaw are playing hard ball now. Let’s see what happens. Uaw lost a lot of ground since 2008.

A strike will happen, and JF BF and their high paid lobbyists and lawyers will attempt to convince Biden to force the UAW back to work or be terminated. Very similar to what Reagan did in 1981 with the air traffic controllers. The auto execs are behaving as if they already know the outcome.

Salary employee in solidarity with UAW...company makes billions, hires has-been executives, line their pockets and then cries poverty when contract negotiations start

You better prepare. Strike is coming. And it will last into 2924. They will be shutting down a lot of salaried teams as a result. And the new cost of labor unskilled labor will mean they never come back.

Many will retire. (They were stupid for not doing that last year!) Many will be screwed.

All that said, Go UAW!

The UAW has some valid points in their arguments. Remember, us salaried workers get the same benefit when it comes to days off. However, I think we still have vehicles sitting in lots waiting for chips/parts so the leadership may think they can afford a strike for awhile.

I fully respect and admire the UAW members sticking up for themselves against bad CEO JF policies.
