If a person being let go is on vacation, does Ford wait for them to come back?

Yes, they wait until you come back from vacation. I know an LL6 who was let go after he came back from vacation in July.
Do not answer while you are on vacation, they will have to wait until you return. If you sense you will be let go based on meeting notice, go out sick (if you are waiting to hit 55 in a few days) and then return to take the meeting
So weird... I posted this question over a month ago when there were the July 4th layoffs and it's just showing up now?!
Ford is not the only (horrible) company that does this. Some years ago I worked at a Michigan based insurance company and they cut one of my friends who was on medical leave and in the hospital. They were an experienced high performing employee. I was working late one evening and actually overheard two managers discussing how cutting people on leave had no impact on the company because they aren’t productive while on leave and their managers don’t have to worry about reassigning work. Sick! It was disgusting to hear this discussed as if this was a brilliant idea. Of course I told my friend what I heard. They sued and while it took a few years they did get a settlement. 8
I know of a lady at GM that got fired on maternity leave, the day she got back. So if you just expect the worst, anything else is a pleasant surprise.

FLV has not been separated from the company. He is on a personal leave until Ford officially states otherwise. The last official word from Ford (in article about his temporary replacement) was that he is on leave.
That’s terrible!
Franck Louis-Victor was terminated while on a “leave of absence.”
Nope - I was let go at the end of June along with some others, and my one pal was on vacation - made the mistake of taking the call, and was told to log on and then was let go. If they cannot contact you while on vacation, they will give you the good news upon your return. Cheers !
No, your boss calls you while on vacation.
So I've seen both happen. In SRD, the day was the day, and if you were on vacation, you got a text/call from your supervisor and that was that. In the more recent rounds, they waited for people to come back from vacation and told them to report to an office, where they were summarily dismissed
Lol
NO
They are the most unethical people ever.
