UC grads avoid this place like a plague.

Granted, CISCO is not going (or nearly impossible) to get UCB CS/EE grads. But, all UCs? a lot UC's so called CS grads' programming ability were far less than San Jose State CS grads, not to mention Cal Poly - SLO

UC grads avoid this place like a plague.

They didn't in the 1990s when a ton of garbage code was checked in which is one of the reasons Cisco went off to write three more broken operating systems. Clearly the freshman Introduction to Programming and Data Structures and sophomore Introduction to Computational Theory and Software Engineering classes were lacking. Guess who trained the people at newer sites around the world to do what they're doing now?

Yes Skills matter. Prob with Csco folks esp the one been there since 2000s they never acquired new skills other than office politiking and backstabbing. They spend more time in break room talking abt other people lives, their golf scores and how their kids are top 10 in class, etc. Often they will spread rumors on technical folks who are actually doing the real work like "no leadership.." "poor communicator".. and promote themselves as "the true, capable leaders.." Place is a joke. Lots of H1Bs with bogus degrees . UC grads avoid this place like a plague.

Why worry? If you have skills you can use them anywhere.

People like the OP are probably incompetent managers trying to do the usual and scare hard workers lol so they don't leave or ask for a raise. Oldest trick in the book.

At the same time they say they say there is a massive skills shortage.

Given how buggy everything is many of the people doing the work today are not the people who should be doing the work tomorrow. I don't use anything from F or N but A, A and G are all severely overpaying for what they're getting.

At the same time they say they say there is a massive skills shortage. During covid people were getting hired with little expertise.

Chuck said no LR for the remainder of 2023. Buddies, we are good for now.

Just watch...he'll come back and say he meant FY23, not CY23. We're now in FY24 and it's a new ballgame. Anything goes.
