What is going on in IT?
I’m only hearing chaos and frustration and no positive words about the new CIO.
I heard IT will starting RIF soon, so they can move the roles to India?
I was considering a job in IT, but now…

IT Support Center in Mounds View was told that they would be outsourced on Wednesday. And it sounds like that group and some others will be getting the axe. The talk is that the CFO advised the CIO to outsource everything possible. The helpdesk held on for years and years, but this was it. Then in total irony the CFO posted a happy-feely "Happy Labor Day" post on her LinkedIn to "celebrate our employees". Yeah, uh, the employees who didn't get guillotined this week. Yay!
Typical IT MSP teams message.
"Hi this is Z from Intel Global, can you tell me who supports ABC" "Yes Intel Global" mute the conversation.
IMHO,
within 1 or 2 years all existing IT will work for a current MSP or some where else
I heard this new CIO eats like a villagers in front of everyone during Zoom calls.. it appears that she has parked her mannerism & etiinquette in India.
And can't seem to deattche from her Phone & ill informed all the time (due to her own lack of attentions).
Please correct me if misinformed.
Working in IT at Medtronic is not a good opportunity. The last person who replied probably works in India for Medtronic. Look at the odd grammatical structure of how they replied lol.
This company has outsourced most functions of IT already. It’s exactly the reason why nothing works because you’re dealing with adjunct staff who are contractors for other companies (like cognizant or wiipro). Do you think adjunct staff really care about making things easier at Medtronic? The longer things take and the more delays that happen, the longer they can extend their contract.
A lot of companies outsource their lower level support. Medtronic made the d-mb decision to outsource at all levels. Total brain drain, great job, now all your IP and processes are done by someone else who has no stake in your company being a going concern in the future. Must be why the stock continues to be dumpster fire because this mentality is in all parts of the business.
IT checking in, "next Friday is payday, and what's left to RIF? and here we are", sad way to look at a great job at MDT. Its the CIO's call nothing we can do about her out sourcing call.
Today is my last day in IT. Morale has been low. People are doing the minimum to get by. No career advancement as jobs are now moving offshore or forced to use low cost alternative. Received a really nice pay pump in my next role. Good luck.
Everything will eventually move to India. Take the job, make money, and find a better paying job elsewhere.
