$170K and not a dime less, that's why there is a union in the first place. Besides, if the executives and management are making the big bucks, then why aren't hard working, labor intensive UAW employees. Executives and management should take a cut if the negotiations come under $170K. Cause if they can't afford to pay UAW workers, then they can't afford to pay themselves with high salaries either. It's got to work both ways to be fair.

They will move ALL BLUE JOBS to Mexico soon.
Most Engineering to India!
GM FCA and FORD
"If they were to get that much it would just make Ford move to more automation faster. "
what do you mean by Ford
what do you think Ford is
it is a collection of individuals with various skillsets
without those skillsets Ford is just a congregation of people standing about
If they were to get that much it would just make Ford move to more automation faster. Then they'd restructure jobs and plants to take less people to do the work. Seal your own fate.
This may be the d-mbest post ever OP and shows why union employees aren't worth that.
Is that the same number that Forbes article paid for by UPS said their drivers were making? :D These numbers are highly inflated to misdirect your outrage. NO ONE at that level makes $170k. Get real. Employers inflate those numbers by counting every benefit: health insurance, 401k match, cost of training, equipment… he-l, they even count life insurance payouts in some cases.
Be careful what you wish for. The more generous the UAW contract is, the deeper the salaried cuts will be to pay for it. It's foolish to think that top management will sacrifice their lavish benefits for it.
Heck if they make $170k, sign me up.
