Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

You can’t make this stuff up

Infighting within the EC.

RTO delayed until first of next year due to expected loss of talent and inability to hire talent with this RTO policy. Rumors of Walt expecting to retire 2025.

@1chi+1o2imWZq If they pay me 10 million dollars a year to sit down and get yelled at eight hours a day and read from a script occasionally I’d sign up in a heartbeat.

If there is infighting within the EC, wonder what that looks like? How many factions are there? Who is on what side?

I noticed they stopped including their signatures & headshots on the emails. Whose decision was that? And why?

From what I remember it was about 15 old white dudes & three or four ladies, all boomers. Do any of them know about this site? I wish we could get one of them to spill the tea!

Poor Rick, they are setting him up for failure. Wonder if it is on purpose & some of them are trying to get him out of the picture? Would not be surprised to find out he’s being bullied, at least for his sake he’s rich.

Continue to do the least amount possible - let them pay you till they call your name. They are spineless knitwits

You are kidding yourselves if you think denver will be over capacity. Cuts and exceptions will bring all offices (except westlake) into range. They’re may be some desk sharing but very rare.

Let’s face it, they released the news of RTO before layoffs to cut the weight of people who don’t want to RTO. They then announced the layoffs without any true date to go off…again to encourage people to leave. Now they walk it back and cut the people that they don’t wanna have to cut in office but rather over a phone call. It’s ugly, it’s not right…but that’s probably what happened here.

Not one time was talent or hiring issues. You’re spreading a fake narrative.

The promised employee experience may end being open floor, with no cubes. There, problem solved: Logistics issue and employee experience (they didn’t say it would be better anyways.

Only thing is that other companies tried this and failed. What to do with offices over capacity, like DEN? Did they just realize logistics problems?

RTO is being delayed only to allow staff to be culled and layoffs to complete before coordinating butts in seats. Plain and simple. It is logical.

RTO delayed due to poor planning (again). No issue with the delay, but not holding my breath for the “level of employee experience” that’s allegedly being worked on.

@mdv+1o2imWZq How did you come up with 10-15%. I had heard 5%

Delay in the RTO is likely due to logistics. Remember they just restacked several offices, now they need to undo that work and find seats for everyone. It likely requires reconfigurations of some locations. Certainly not a surprise and unlikely due to any other reason.

Who’s the fight between on the EC?

This post is mo--nic. RTO delayed because of expected loss of talent? They are laying off 10-15 percent of the company. You think they care you don’t want to come to the office or inability to hire with this RTO policy (which is still not that bad—JP Morgan 5 days, Goldman 5 days)

What they are doing is making sure layoffs go smooth by you not being there when they tell you. But you are still so wound up about having to go to the office, well take your talent somewhere else, tell your boss to put you on the list and stop bi--hing

I hope this company is bled of all significant talent and is relegated to an afterthought. Fu-k any company that betrays their employees. We deserve better than this.
