Horrible event in Red Wing 3M plant. This plant has been a sole producer of Fall protection for many regions of the world. My daughter was hired for a summer contact role and was eliminated 3 weeks early for unknown reasons. While I think full time should be protected before summer help they had the nerve to hold a recruitment event the same day as the notices went out that their contract was done. Horrible plant leadership. If your from RW do not send your college grads to this plant

Management retained the summer help of management's kids but removed the ones that weren't related. Clear nepotism.
I’ve heard of this occurring at this plant. Heard that it’s a combo of missed certification and horrible leadership. The community was so excited for 3M to come to town, instead it’s a major disappointment.
Rumor is a lawsuit is forming against management for retaliation at that plant because both local and regional HR didn't do their job. Nepotism is strong in RW!1
If she worked in blocks they didn't complete their ansi certification on parts which shutdown teams then there was a shortage of parts which shutdown more. Absolutely no accountability on the employees who fked that up so they cut summer help in certain departments and I'm sure temp agency is next. Full time employees are pi---d they lost hours. The hiring event is supposed to be to back fill for all the non full time employees leaving which 3M heavily employed for the year and rely on. They're too cheap to hire with benefits. Automation happens in shipping Sept which they'll layoff or relocate internals. They had this all planned to reduce head count. They use and exploit employees. This is the 3M way.
disgraceful but not surprizing now, this company is a snake and keeps shedding it's skin. So sorry for your daughter and obviously your own pride and trust in the company has been damaged forever. All employees should understand that this once great company we work for is rotten at the top, we have lost our legends and all I see is the wrath of employees condeming the onboarders from other company's who we see are here to steal their salaries. Please hurry up and bankrupt the company as this slow death is hard to watch.
Can’t name names but if you’re from Red Wing you know the people who can answer. While the direction came corporate, local plant leadership has to have the ability do what’s right. Shame on them if they folded!
