I hear a lot of whispers about possible headcount reductions. People speculate out of fear and concern. How far are we from layoffs? Does anyone have any insight?

No. It's not a secret about the layoffs more staff reductions are going on. I do agree with the poster who said that it has been happening quietly. Sometimes people are no longer working for Citi and you have no idea that they are leaving. SO you do not know if they were let go or just moved on. It's really concerning and disruptive to our division.
Layoffs have been quietly happening this entire year, in different departments.
In the past month, some of my friends in AML and Fraud have been JD'd on the CRS side.
There have been layoffs every quarter. Google "Citi CFO job cuts" This is not a secret. 5,000 jobs are being methodically trimmed, a little at a time. It will continue.....keep your head down and make yourself irreplaceable. Let the lazy and incompetent people on your team be exposed as you rise above.
