Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

GSSO Amateur Hour

Embarrassing to watch the GSSO SLT confirm last Thursday what many already know, they have no clue. There are no specialists for you to be able to compete anymore. Cisco S-xure Access and XDR and no one to go deep since there will be no specialists. No one knows what they are doing. The direct side is always prepared for the start of the new FY. We are not even close to being ready. This is a complete disaster already starting FY24. Layoffs in GSSO are coming after earnings announcement on Aug 16. This is the only plausible reason for them to not announce coverage alignment.

Last month we had our team had a call with EC to discuss the FY24 strategy for a big telco customer. Sorry, she really need to spend some time (6 months) on training...there is alot to catch up for her to understand the security trends. wondering she doesn't even understand the technology ( my peers said because at her level she need not to be technical) ..but how can you make decision for a company if don't know what / how they work & consumed by our top customers. really don't know how on earth Cisco finds such x£$%££$£...some of the lower ranking peers started to fedup with her. they need the job so they just say "yes" to everything.

Competition is growing double digits. Agree with other comments on EC. Her decisions have taken us from growth to negative growth. Does she know what she is doing. With no specialists especially for CSA, this is leading to more layoffs after Aug 16.

Selling the Security Business to MSFT would make the most sense for both parties.

I heard the same. CFO likes having security to seem relevant to the street, but the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze. Costs must be cut. Latest is that there are no interested buyers so may be spun out, with JP to be CEO at new org.

@rao+1o1TpC7s I would do a better job vetting sources. Yours are very bad.
