Has anyone heard anything about the possibility of layoffs? Some people are already starting to panic, and even though realistically there are no indications that there could be cuts, rumors alone make me feel anxious. Please let us know if you any more information.

@7pvw+1o0Mdlkw that doesn't make sense because everyone who originally worked for cSSD now works for eSSD in USA. Upper management combined both to oneSSD.
Rumors have it that Kioxia wants the client side of SSD and not the eSSD, which can’t deliver any program on time. Hence, they may just cut all of eSSD teams.
No indication? Have you seen the companies earning reports for the last few quarters? The socioeconomic risks? The fact that server farms have a surplus of drives that will carry them through next year. That WD is making higher capacity drives and therefore needs less workforce to produce the same. Or that SSD drives are cheaper than toilet paper now. Well SanDisk drives were cr-p to start with. Much more competition now as well.
They’re too incompetent to even do a layoff correctly.
We'll know tomorrow hopefully.
No layoffs in August and September. Might be there in October
I also heard that there will be more layoffs in August/September. I also heard merger is not happening and now WDC looking to spin off some operations. No 401k match, no STI, it is a mess.
2TB cSSD offers at 65$ off brand company. 1TB at 31$. This is below what a 1TB HDD sells for today.
Someone buys NAND on the open market in this oversupply situation and then floods the FGI. The worst part is WD can’t use all the bits so they enable this. What a mess.
HDD pricing is going up but NAND continues to find the bottom.
Likely pushed to September. NAND prices still going down.
