Does anyone not use their Everyday Wins points? It appears it gets added as part of gross income, with offsetting Journal entries on your paycheck stubs, but also expires. The Dept of Labor & Industry has indicated this is a form of wage theft.

I’ve heard of people giving everyday wins to people they hate so they get less on their check.
Wait for year end and Mickey will give you 250 pts.
What's the fastest way to get points? I've been stuck on 1000 for months and either no one wants to send them out, or don't know how to log in and send them. I even heard rumors awhile back of someone finding a glitch to get 1000s of points without anyone having to send them to them?? Any truth to this?
$100 gift cards start at 909 points and top out at 1018. So no you aren’t getting robbed. You might have to think a little to find the best value but that’s on you to do.
This is exactly why 3M keeps the EW program. Everyone is discussing $100 worth of value, while jobs are on the line. EW means absolutely nothing in the larger picture.
Talking about AIP......
Does anyone have the Q2 AIP payout estimates by BG level? I saw the Q1 AIP numbers- all below 100% as expected

This is such a stupid take. Every employee is given an annual budget to spend on EW points. Every dept builds this cost into their annual budget. Does it matter if Joe Toolbox disburses his 1200 total allotment, 50 points at a time, to only workers who meet your standard for deserving recognition?
I was part of the team that helped role out EW to our USAC group. My message to my local team was "you each have been given XXXX-of points to appreciate your colleagues however you choose, and it would be a shame if any of you had a single point left to give at the end of the year. If you don't, we will consider 'not utilizing available tools to recognize your colleagues' as an improvement opportunity during your performance reviews." In weekly tier reviews one of my presentation points was always to remind people to remind their teams to use their EW wins points.
After finding out I'd been eliminated I made a point to distribute every point I had available because why should 3M get to keep that "money?"
AIP is the biggest form of wage theft going.......
Another brainless system from who-knows Brain child.
Lot of people abuse the system. I saw several posts celebrating certain days by giving each other points. Recently I saw one saying Happy Monday with 50 pts.
So you paid payroll taxes on $120 of income for those 1200 points even though the Visa gift card was only worth $100? Sounds like a moneymaker for federal and state governments.
I cash them in for visa gift cards. Don’t let them go to waste. It’s about 1200 points for $100 last I checked.
I think OP is trying to articulate that if you get EW points and don’t use them, this could be seen as wage theft.
Since the time delta from receiving points to them expiring is so long, it is not considered theft because it is deemed that you have had enough time to convert them into cash valued goods or even gift cards, and that time is known and not a surprise.
What everyone should be doing is passing out as many points as possible to coworkers to use and get some benefit from. If you don’t pass them out every year you are leaving money on the table. You can always cash them in for gift cards. Get with your buddies and figure out how best to award each other points.
I have a ton of unused point. Let me know if u need an alarm clock or a garden gnome.
3M has found a way to make it a point (almost part or it’s new DNA) to be anti-employee. I don’t think I need to generate a list of how the company has done this, but a constant stream of layoffs since 2018 has been remarkable. One could also argue that the company has almost become anti-customer (suffocating travel to see them, driving ridiculous metrics leading to abysmal service). What a run it’s been for MR.
You'll see it on your paystubs as soon as they give them to you. You'd also be shocked if you break down the cost of the points vs what they deduct. They have this program for a reason.
It's my understanding that it only shows up as gross income when you spend the points.
Nobody cares about small rules or laws. 3M has already found ways to take far more away from employees, countries and the world. Small potatoes for 3M - they are finding ways to equally anger left and right, east and west, etc, etc, etc. And Everyday Wins is just a way to try to play nice and pretend management appreciates employees. It all reminds me of Gold Points Plus, if anyone remembers that. Next up, we'll sell CDs for a penny and resurrect more old, outdated schemes.
3M goes to extraordinary means to pay less. Pension is next on the list. It’s the GE way.
