It is not new, maybe more sophisticated. But people have been getting fired for inappropriate online communication or email since well over 25-30 years. It just easier now to see. If they wanna find they will. Don’t ever use your personal devices on their network.

Nothing new?…… 15 years ago is very different now, the tracking and software used to watch employees is very sophisticated now, saying it’s nothing new , it’s all new and can filter right down with precision……. Don’t be blindsided

This is nothing new. NCR has always had virtual access and log activity to all company equipment connected. They only look at it if they are out to get you. About 15 years ago I know a Manager who was fired because he used his computer to do his taxes. Obviously, he was on the fire radar so they found a reason. NCR equipment is not to be used for anything non NCR.
Another person was fired because they signed a NDA, but then shared details in email to a colleague not on NDA. If they need a reason other than layoff they will find it!

My team relies on GPS to see where you’re at. My TM and TL are very busy so luckily they only bother us once in a while. I knew NCR did not trust their CEs but this is crazy.

What ? You mean my bosses boss might actually figure out that his pet in the UK who allegedly is working when we're all still sleeping is a slacker? There should be no managers doing WFH.

Got you one better. I was still an apprentice in 1975. Doing PM inspections (yes once upon a time NCR was proactive in service) on old mechanical Class 52 registers at a Lazarus store in Columbus, OH. Friday afternoon, about 3 PM my TM stopped at the store, had the store call for me over the PA system to find where I was at. When he found me, he said "just wanted to stop by and make sure you were working. I am on my way home".

The S-B was only about 5 foot nothing but had a serious "Napoleon Complex".

Yup, your manager can get access to your laptop and cell phone if the want, read all your email and text messages, track your movements, and listen in. My advice would be keep your laptop powered off unless using it, after your shift turn off your phone as well. My boss was doing this to me after a bad coworker was whispering in his ear and destroyed my reputation, instead of talking to me he chose to monitor me and I was terminated based on lies from the terrible coworker…… kinda ironic cause I got severance and unemployment, and will never work again, lol, but don’t think for a second they won’t monitor you.

As much as it su-ks. Take this as a lesson. Company devices are extreme trackers. It's up to your manager to access that information if they want. Su-ks that you have a manager like that. Please be carefull.
