Theres a reason hr ppl got promoted… its not because they are advocates for employees. The hr investigation team that’s supposed to investigate is a joke and their leader is a toxic bully herself.
My manager is on leave as a result of workplace harassment. He is a great leader and our team is not doing well without him.
This is an important subject! I’ve been so pushed to the limits that I have developed high blood pressure and need meds for anxiety. This company is just that … a company and I have my date to leave on the calendar. It paid for a lot of things but it was at a personal cost.
I had the same issue and doing same. Crazy that hr defends bad behaviors instead of replacing the actual problem. Hr and hr leaders can get bent at 3m. How they sleep at night is beyond me. Karma always prevails.
I have been actively looking for employment elsewhere and can not wait until I put in a 2 weeks notice and watch my supervisor panic. I am willing to take a pay cut to escape the toxic work environment my supervisor perpetuates. I have gone to HR several times for my supervisor bullying me and for intentional undermining me and my work. It never passes the threshold of “bullying” so my supervisor just gets coached to do better. Honestly sometimes I feel crazy with the amount of shenanigans that is allowed to fly @ 3M. And when I bring up issues to higher ups for HR its like they gas light you to think its acceptable behavior. It would be nice to work for a company that has their sh*t together…
Agreed. Saw this exact issue with the TTS leader.
Do take your personal, mental and physical health seriously.
Chronic stress does not lead to a healthy self , life and relationships.
Having worked for +20 years in 3M and out since 2 years. The last few years, realised we are like frogs being boiled. You dont know when you are cooked. 3M pays only lip service to employee care and world outside showed me that, People, other organisations are kinder and are out there. So depending on your situation, decide wisely. Believe me you are not a quitter to exit or the other way round. But remember to keep the balance. Good luck to all.
My mental health has been so much better since I left 3M. Thankfully I had to opportunity to then grow professionally also in my current role, and mentally I am so much better for it. I know change is hard to accept, but do not be afraid of it. Prioritise your health, if you don't have that, you will struggle further.
Agreed. A toxic leader can make an employee very sick. It pains me when I see a toxic leader yell at or berate an employee, especially when the employee is a great employee with years of experience.
Agreed. Word.
