Thread regarding VMware layoffs

EU regulators

EU regulators are set to clear Broadcom’s $69bn acquisition of cloud software company VMware, leaving competition authorities in the UK and US as holdouts to finalising one of the biggest tech takeovers.

CA Guy here again. I literally got an email at 4 am in the morning that said: welcome to Broadcom—this may have been like 2 or 3 days after it was finalized. Those that didn’t make it got a RIF email or a 6/12/18 month Term letter (they also got a fat bonus to stick around) . That morning, I got welcome emails from my GM. Your manager/director will absolutely know if they will be around or not. They have these convos well in advance and have a list made up of people. The managers that were brought to Broadcom built their teams based on that information. Again, Broadcom is super flat—I have literally talked with Hock a more than a few times which is pretty crazy, GMs more than that Compensation wise. My pay went up 10% in about 2 months as Broadcom wants everyone at a certain level. Since then , my Pay has about 3x with the Amazing RSU’s and pay bumps. Bonus is great if your BU does well. Title may change but you will be doing what you have already been doing. Again, don’t worry either way. Every one here is excited about VMware and I think we’ll mesh into one big, well compensated family.

Hey, 'CA Technologies Guy. '

When CA was acquired by BC, how was your title/level changed? Is that down? Was the change happening on day1 or later?

Hey, CA Technologies Guy here. Broadcom is way better run than CA was. There will be blood, a lot of blood, but for those that make it through, it’s fantastic. If you can articulate right now, today, how you deliver revenue to the organization, don’t be worried—if you can’t don’t be worried, even getting RIF’d Broadcom will take care of you. Bottom line, don’t sweat it.

The deal will go through, and UK relegated to the bat cave for its mutinous actions against the global cabal. We will be witness another chapter soon to be upon us. Adjust your jock strap accordingly

Nope. FTC will say no, and will the UK. They may eventually be persuaded, like the FTC was today with Microsoft/Activision. But I see the FTC digging in after their latest defeat, not giving up.

Hock has unzipped his pants and is ready to do the deal.

Waiting for 110% layoffs, Magoo needs to be fired at least three times.

This is a done deal... The CMAs case is weak, so is the FTCs. FTC will come on board Aug and CMA either Aug or Sep.

This is now a done deal. Next is FTC approval in the next few weeks. No one gives a cr-p about the UK as the CMA doesn’t have a real case against Broadcom and the deal will go through either way.

UK will say no, just to oppose the EU lol
